News from Hulst, Sluis & Terneuzen
Hulst is known as an attractive fortified town where the shops are open every day and where there is always something to do. This statement is once again emphasized, because soon the brand new modern cinema ‘Koning van England’ will open its doors on the Bierkaai in the center of the city. In addition to the cinema, the complex will also be used for other cultural events. The restaurant ‘Oscars’ opens its doors in this new complex in December. The restaurant ‘State’, a classy restaurant next to the cinema complex, will also open in November.
Sluis - Did you know that the more than 17 kilometers of beaches in the municipality of Sluis have been among the cleanest beaches in the Netherlands for years? In 2022, these beaches were declared the cleanest beaches in Zeeland during the national beach election. The best beach pavilion in Zeeland can also be found here: DOK 14 in Cadzand-Bad.
In addition, the Blue Flag is waving on our coast. That means that our beaches are clean and safe. Every year a new inspection takes place and an international jury decides whether the 'Blue Flag' quality mark may be used again. As a municipality, we are very proud of our clean and wide beaches and the Blue Flags. Especially in the summer many people work daily to keep the beaches clean. Also beach visitors contribute to this. Together we keep our beaches clean. Did you know that the sun shines here more often than in the rest of the Netherlands? Experience it yourself!
Terneuzen – The new library in Terneuzen presents itself explicitly as a library that is there for everyone! Also for the many internationals in our region. Apart from a lot of opportunities that exist to become both linguistically and digitally proficient, the following options also apply specifically to the library branch in Terneuzen:
Free WIFI is available during opening hours and the same applies for visitor computers; there are also possiblities to color print.
There is a good collection of foreign language books; there is an opportunity to work and/or study in a quiet and protected area and there is an opportunity to read one of the many magazines at the reading table.
There is access to a large amount of e-learning courses and trainings and there is an opportunity to get acquainted with new technologies such as the 3D printer; the 360 degree scanner; the vlog studio or the VR-glasses.
