Within the scope of the Expat Center Zeeland we have established a team for the International Community that supports us to create ideas and set up activities.
Initiatives are linked to information, education and culture.
For the 2022 agenda we are looking at possibilities that have been gathered during the first survey, sent to international employees in 2021. A couple of proposals have resulted into themes that can contribute to the integration of internationals. One of the results is the cooperation with Onbegrensd Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
The common goal is to further link internationals to local communities within Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. This way internationals get the opportunity to connect deeper into the communities and meet locals who are active. We want to make them enthusiastic about the region. In this way they can be ambassadors for other international employees. We also want to enlarge this goal throughout Zeeland. Our early ideas are:
- Walk the Talk: locals meet internationals and talk Dutch while walking
- Meet & Greet: innovative meeting with municipalities Hulst, Sluis and Terneuzen
- Special get-together: connect with local activities and traditions
Cooperation partners Cargill, Lesgeven in Zeeland, Onbegrensd Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and Expat Center Zeeland will further develop this agenda and more will be communicated in the next newsletters.
